Ka Pili Kai Winter 2013

The talented and dynamic faculty and staff at the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program (UH Sea Grant), led by its director Gordon Grau, are visionaries, and are constantly assessing and responding to the ever changing needs of the coastal communities that we serve. For instance, in 2013, we were fortunate to welcome the last four faculty members hired through the coastal sustainability initiative, which greatly increases our outreach and research capacity. In addition, we formed an even stronger relationship with UH Mänoa’s Water Resources Research Center when Gordon Grau was named interim director. While we are not able to highlight all of our projects, please browse the pages of this issue to get a snapshot of the ways we are working closely with these communities and touching the lives of the people throughout the state and the region.
